Why Partnerships Matter

Nyota Scouting’s work is built on one core idea: The best way to discover talent is to be everywhere.

East Africa is full of football environments that rarely appear on anyone’s radar — school competitions, community tournaments, academy matches, street games, rural pitches and local football cultures that are invisible to traditional scouting structures.

To cover this landscape properly, Nyota Scouting collaborates with academies and local scouts across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda. These partnerships allow us to cast an extremely wide net, identify thousands of players each year, and ensure that no promising talent goes unnoticed.

Our partners are the foundation of our scouting network. They are our eyes and ears across the region.

Academy Partnerships

Nyota Scouting collaborates with academies that develop young players and want to create more pathways for them. Through these partnerships, academies gain:

  • Independent player evaluations based on international scouting standards
  • Development feedback that helps coaches understand strengths, weaknesses and long‑term potential
  • Visibility to relevant clubs when a player reaches the required level
  • Long‑term monitoring, where promising players are tracked over months or years
  • Professional communication with clear expectations and transparent dialogue

Academies also benefit from the broader Nyota network. When a player stands out, multiple scouts across the region may observe him — giving a more complete picture of his level and potential.

We also aim to support academies with sponsorship opportunities when possible. While sponsorship cannot be guaranteed, our growing network increases visibility and opens doors for potential support.

Local Scout Partnerships

Local scouts are the backbone of Nyota Scouting. They give us access to environments that no international organisation could cover alone.

Our scouts operate in their own communities — attending school tournaments, community competitions, academy matches, street games and grassroots football events. They provide:

  • Local insight into players, teams and football environments
  • Basic player information (age, position, background, eligibility)
  • Footage and observations from matches and tournaments
  • Early identification of players who may later enter the Nyota database

Scouts follow Nyota’s evaluation standards, including the 4‑pillar model (Technical, Tactical, Physical, Mental), ensuring consistency across the entire region.

Through our Scouting Coordinator, Michael Mubiru, we maintain structure, communication and quality across all scouts in East Africa.

How the Process Works

A typical partnership follows a clear and simple structure:

  1. Academies and scouts share basic information on players in their region
  2. Nyota reviews and filters the most promising profiles
  3. Nyota scouts conduct independent evaluations at matches, training sessions or tournaments
  4. Promising players enter the Nyota database and are monitored over time
  5. Top prospects are evaluated by multiple scouts to ensure accuracy
  6. If a player reaches the required level, Nyota may present him to relevant clubs
  7. Clubs handle all permissions, documents and negotiations directly with the academy or guardian

The collaboration is non‑exclusive, non‑binding, and fully voluntary.

This broad coverage allows us to discover players who would otherwise remain invisible — the ones playing in rural school competitions, community tournaments, or small academies far from the traditional scouting pathways.
